This course is intended for students who already passed ACADEMIC ENGLISH I. It will further develop the academic skills that the students acquired in the prerequisite course.The course focuses mainly on the skills required to produce well-researched and well-documented academic essays and research papers. It starts by introducing students to valid topics for academic essays and research papers. It then introduces them to the types of academic essays with sample essays analyzed in class for clarification, identification and emulation purposes. Students are then taught how to search for and locate different types of sources and references in library archives and web archives. Students also learn how to render their arguments logically and how to avoid fallacies and plagiarism in their academic writing. They are trained via exercise and exposure in writing with a scholarly style. The course teaches them how to use text editors like Microsoft Word to cite references, document sources, divide, organize, revise and proofread their research papers. Students learn important tips on how to deliver effective presentations based on their research papers before an audience.

Course Description:
The course design is based on an introduction to the profession of pharmacy and basics of pharmaceutical care principles. Furthermore, it takes into account the fundamental concepts of calculations applied and required in the pharmaceutical care and practice. Calculations include therapeutic dose, dosage form preparation, compounding and prescription filling. |

Course Description:Students complete various activities in tertiary settings and industry, based on topics provided to students via electronic platform. During the training, students experience first-hand medicines, patients and disease states in special settings, thus reinforcing educational learning experiences. The training is designed to allow students to put into practice obtained knowledge and experience the real daily pharmacist’s duty in tertiary care and industry. Duties may involve legal aspects, undertaking medicines review, producing clinical care plans and managing higher level of demanding patient groups.

The module is divided into two independent sections that is designed to introduce students to the bases of public health and enable them obtain the basic life-saving skills of first aid. The public health part of the module gives students foundation and transferable skills they will need to understand and work on a wide range of issues in a variety of pharmacy related fields. They will learn how to keep communities healthy, protect workers, prevent and address pandemics, spearhead disaster relief, ensure access to healthcare, developing community health services and so much more. |
